Moments

Moments are fleeting
Like the flashing lights of a lightning bug 
at twilight on a summers day.
When your young you catch it 
put it in a jar 
and carry it around with you.
As you grow up you just sit back 
and watch the light dance
Enjoying the beauty of the moment 
Because even if it is gone too soon,
You appreciate that it happened at all

It took no time for me to realize I am physically my mothers twin
but after 25 years I am still learning how very much like my father I am...
